About Threading Frames

Threading Frames is a creative company founded by Joshua Faleatua and Tyler Carney-Faleatua

Our work centres around the integration of dance into the digital landscape where our exploration lies in the intricate interplay between dance, storytelling and film.

Threading Frames is the recipient of Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi Springboard award 2024 and have presented their work in New Zealand (Tempo Festival 2023, Pacific Dance Festival 2022, Auckland Arts Festival 2021), Netherlands (Cinedans FEST 24), Sweden (Stockholm City Film Festival 2021), Australia (Dance (lens) Film Festival 2021), Greece (Thessaloniki Cinedance International Festival 2021), Paris (Winner Best Dance Paris Play International Film Festival 2020), Bulgaria (Moving Body Film Festival Bulgaria 2020), Austria (Dance On Screen Film Festival Austria 2021), Portugal (Winner Best Experimental Lisbon Monthly Film Festival 2020).

Threading Frames has also collaborated with artists and companies such as Atamira Dance Company, Ta’alili, Motte, New Zealand School of Dance, Amit Noy, ARIA, Anna Edgington and Aunty Rae.
