
Tyler Carney Bio
Tyler is an Australian dancer, choreographer and filmmaker. She has collaborated with various renowned artists, choreographers and companies including Marina Abramović, Michael Keegan-Dolan (Teaċ Daṁsa), Luke Murphy, New Zealand Dance Company, Ta’alili, James O’Hara, Guangdong Modern Dance Company, Footnote New Zealand Dance Company and Atamira Dance Company. Her journey as a dancer has led her across the globe, performing and touring in productions across New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, United Kingdom, USA, China, Germany and Switzerland.
Beyond her performance career, Tyler is the recipient of the Wellesley Studios residency, 2021 and has been consistently funded to create, direct and choreograph works since 2020 with Threading Frames. She has also been invited to choreograph and share her movement practice with students from various institutes and dance company’s such as Rambert School, The New Zealand School of Dance, Unitec Institute of Technology , Ev & Bow, Brent Street, Atamira Dance Company and Footnote NZ Dance.
Tyler has a strong background in contemporary dance training and also has a practice in waving, which significantly influences her movement style.
Joshua Faleatua Bio
Joshua is a dancer and filmmaker of New Zealand and Samoan descent with family ties to the village of LufiLufi on the island of Upolu in Samoa.
As a dancer Joshua has collaborated with renowned companies including Chunky Move, Stephanie Lake Company, Footnote New Zealand Dance, Tino Sehgal, Guangdong Modern Dance Company, The New Zealand Dance Company, Movement Of The Human, IDCO, Body Island and Ta’alili. Joshua also proudly represents the international Krump crew/fam '12AF' under the alias '12X,' solidifying his influence within the global dance community.
As a filmmaker, he has directed and crafted compelling film content for a diverse range of clients, including Atamira Dance Company, Body Island, Tom Scott, Louis Baker, Red Leap Theatre, Massive Company, Footnote NZ Dance, Ta’alili, Soft.co, Momentum Productions, MOTH, Motte and CONJAH. Joshua is also the recipient of the Digital Fellowship program, 2023. With his work through Threading Frames, he has presented work in Aotearoa (Tempo Festival 2023, Pacific Dance Festival 2022, Auckland Arts Festival 2021), Netherlands (Cinedans FEST 24), Sweden (Stockholm City Film Festival 2021), Australia (Dance (lens) Film Festival 2021), Greece (Thessaloniki Cinedance International Festival 2021), Paris (Winner Best Dance Paris Play International Film Festival 2020), Bulgaria (Moving Body Film Festival Bulgaria 2020), Austria (Dance On Screen Film Festival Austria 2021), Portugal (Winner Best Experimental Lisbon Monthly Film Festival 2020).
